Two Months

Sweet Pea is two months old already (actually she is 2 1/2 months today... but better late than never!) This girl is such a sweet little thing that we can't get enough of. She is definitely growing. 0 - 3 month clothes still fit, but some is getting snug. At her doctor appointment she was about 23 inches and 11 pounds, 14 ounces. She has lost hair on top of her head (thank goodness for headbands!) but her eyelashes are getting longer.

Learning to do/Firsts: She is starting to smile so much and even has a little giggle. I can't even handle it. Oh, and then there is the little talking/cooing thing she does... I LOVE IT!
Sienna rolled over for the first time yesterday. I don't know if was just a one-time thing but she rolled from her stomach to her side, then rolled onto her back...granted it was a five-minute process, but she did it! I'm so not ready for her to be mobile...I want her to stay little longer! She is also such a good sleeper and sleeps through the night for me. Breck didn't sleep good through the night until he was 18 months so I am really appreciating her being such a good sleeper for me.

Loves: She loves baths still and is always happy when getting her diaper changed. Sisi still loves to be cuddled and held which I am totally okay with! :)

Hates: Sisi HATES tummy time and always lets me know... I am trying to get her to do it more. She doesn't always like laying on her back. She really likes to sit up and really likes being in the bumbo and highchair so she can be part of the action.

And this is crazy big brother. Oh Brecken.

You can already see the difference a month can make...fuller cheeks and chunkier little thighs.

Sienna's Room: Closet Glam

The next project I did in Sienna's Room was to make the closet pretty.

It was just a boring closet with oak doors, oak trim, dingy white walls and a generic shelf and rod before I completely made it over. Here is the before when we first moved in the house with the green paint and all.

I painted the room gray - Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore and the trim Alabaster White by Sherwin Williams. The inside of the closet needed a serious coat of paint so I painted it Alabaster White as well, to match the trim.

I had leftover hot pink paint that I had custom made for our bedroom wall at our old house. To make the closet more fun, I painted the shelf and rod hot pink.

Next, I ordered 1-inch silver metallic dot stickers from Amazon for under $10. Here is a link to similar labels. I know you can get vinyl dots made for the walls, but these were really cheap and I think they will come off easily someday if needed.

I used a ruler/level to make sure the stickers were spaced equally and straight. I spaced them about 10 inches apart horizontally and vertically from the center of each dot. This was pretty time consuming, but I loved the results!

Here is the final result...

It is hard to get a good picture because they are reflective. It looks a little different now with the clothes hanging and curtains, but I will show more pictures soon!

Sienna's Nursery: the walls

My latest house project before Sienna's birth was her bedroom. First thing up was painting her room. Brecken used this room for almost a full year before I kicked him out. It was a light grayish sage green before and I never hung any decorations when it was his room. It was dying for a makeover. You will also notice that the trim was still the oak-y color too. Here are the before pictures:

And here is the after - much better.

I once again went with Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. I love pink for a girl, but I didn't want to do pink walls so went with something very neutral. I have Revere Pewter many other places in my house, but I knew I liked it and didn't want to have another gray dilemma. I painted the trim Alabaster (white) by Sherwin Williams. I hate painting trim, but it completely changed the look to the room.

Well, there is much more to projects to show before I reveal the whole nursery, so stay tuned!

Maternity Photos

About a month before Sienna was born, I had maternity pictures taken with my bump and the rest of the family by the fabulous Midwest Lifeshots. Although it was a steamy 85 - 90 degrees and I got 30 mosquito bites, the pictures are fantastic and were so worth it! When I look at these pictures, I miss being pregnant and feeling baby girl's kicks and movement, yet I am so glad I am not! I am so glad I get to hold her in my arms!
