13 Months

Little Man is already 13 months! I decided to continue the monthly photos like I did for 1 - 12 months but switch it up a bit. I thought I would just make him stand for the pictures instead so you could see the growth between 12 - 24 months. I grabbed the curtains from his room as a backdrop and made a little chalkboard sign instead. It was a bit more challenging to keep him behind a backdrop instead of in the chair for pictures. Every month I get less and less pictures of him - but I still got a few cute ones. I had to bribe him a few times to get him to stand there, that is why you will see him with a sucker and bubbles in some of the pictures...

Brecken - 13 months:

Learning to do: He is walking everywhere. Pretty much once he hit one, he started walking. 13 months brought speed - he is getting alot faster. Climbing is his new thing - climbing on the couch, on other furniture and onto toys (like his play table or musical table). Momma does not like this new skill. It's scary. He is starting to mimic new words - like Hi, Bye, and Uh-Oh. He does say Ball all the time though. He learned how to kick a soccer ball too - Daddy is so proud.

Loves to eat: He has been obsessed with grapes lately. I think he is going to be a picky eater. He will try things and then spit them out. I still feed him baby food since he gets so picky when he feeds himself.

Loves: Brooms or mops. He has this strange obsession with them. When he finds one - he will play with it for 20 minutes, which with his attention span is saying alot! Maybe he will be a clean freak someday? Maybe not because he also loves making a mess! :) Breck also loves the park and slides. When he goes down a big slide by himself he shrieks with delight- you can't help but laugh. He also loves to get into the pantry - momma does loves this habit either.

Hates: When I disrupt his "adventures" or when we have to leave the park. He hates sitting in his high chair for too long and preceeds to let me know with a high-pitched scream that a boy should never use. He hates being barricaded or trapped. If you do trap him in, you just gave him a mission to find a way to escape.

9 Months

My little baby is turning into a little boy and now he is 9 months old. It is hard to believe he is already that old! 9 months has brought alot of new changes as well and Brecken is constantly doing new things! He has 5 teeth, but it looks as though his 6th will poke through someday soon. Breck is crawling super fast and tries to be sneaky and scale the stairs or try to put his hand in the toilet when I'm not looking. Only the second time of sitting in a cart at Target, he had figured out how to get out of the buckle and was almost standing up in the cart. I have a feeling this kid will be a handful (well he kinda already is).

A couple of weeks ago we happened to capture his standing on his own on video. It shocked me that my little baby was standing on his own - he hasn't really done it again but I am sure soon he will be doing that all the time! He is now walking along things and loves to push his dinosaur walker around the family room floor. At his last doctor's appointment, the doctor said he may be walking around 10 months. Yikes! He measured in the 75% for his height at 28.7 inches, but only the 15 percentile for his weight at 17.9 pounds.

It is crazy how much new stuff he does each time I blog. It is so fun to see him grow and discover new things each day, although it is bittersweet to see him grow. I just love his happy and outgoing personality that he is developing. Althought I love seeing new developments to his personality and mobility, his smile funny babbling and "kisses" (open mouth kisses on the lips that only Todd and I find welcoming) are my favorite parts of being his mom.

8 months old

My little man has been 8 months for a couple weeks now and he is busier than ever. He hates sitting for too long in his exersaucer, high chair or walker but just wants to get down and play. He is crawling so fast, pulling up on everything with ease, and getting into everything! Just the other day I caught him climbing up the stairs. Brecken defines the word 'busy.' 

 He loves puffs and cherrios and has been starting to try new foods. He is now getting his 3rd and 4th teeth in so he has been a bit moody. He is in mostly 6 - 9 month clothes and growing alot - I am not sure how big he is and I am waiting to see how big he is at his next appointment. Brecken keeps us very busy

7 months

Brecken is 7 months now! I thought 6 months sounds old but 7 months sounds so much older! He is now closer to being a year old than he is to being born... so crazy! Not much has changed since the last time I blogged. He is still moving and crawling everywhere and pulling himself up on everything and standing. Brecken still wears some 3 - 6 month clothes but is mostly wearing 6 - 12/ 6 - 9 month clothes. I don't think he has grown much in the last month, but he has certainly been learning new things. It is so much fun to see the new things he is discovering to do.

6 months old

     I am finally getting around to blogging his 6 month photos... now that he is almost 7 months old. I can't believe he is already half-a-year old! My baby is growing up! This 6 month marker has brought HUGE changes in the past couple weeks. He went in for his 6-month appointment a couple weeks ago and was 26.3 inches long and 16.4 pounds.
     At 5 months he started army crawling, then progressively got faster and now just two weeks ago, he has been crawling on his hands and knees. Breck still does a hybrid of army-crawling and normal crawling but he is FAST - it a matter of seconds he is getting into something like cords, paper, bags, remotes - you know, the things he isn't supposed to have.
    Just last week he started pulling himself up on things. If I thought it was hard to keep track of him when he was crawling everywhere, its even worse that he can pull up on things now! Breck also has two teeth through so that probably explains the moodiness and waking up multiple times per night. That has to hurt! Poor Baby!
    I've also tried to start feeding him some solids. We've been doing the rice cereal for a while, but he does not like that. I tried some veggies first - sweet potatoes and green beans but he didn't like either. He does like the fruit though - apples, peaches and pears. I'll have to go back to the veggies and make him learn to like them as well as cereal!
    There has been so many changes this month, but it is so fun to see him grow and discover new things. He is our little joy!

    

Obviously, it is getting harder to keep him in the chair for the pictures!!

5 Months

He is 5 months ALREADY! Crazy! It seems like alot of new things have been happening lately - in just the last week! He is officially on the move. He has been very wiggly and squirmy lately, but now he is on the move. Just the other night he started army crawling and can get whatever he wants now. Uh Oh!  Time to baby proof the house! Lately he has been scooting towards the presents under the tree and trying to open one. He did open one the other night all by himself. I feed him rice cereal for the first time a couple weeks ago and have tried a few times since, but he doesn't always love it.

He also slept in his own room a few nights ago. This was a big step for him, but an even bigger step for Mommy :) He is still waking up around 3 am and 6 am. I thought by putting him in his own room maybe I wouldn't have to wake up as many times, but this isn't the case. It is alot worse to have to walk across the hall to put his pacifier in his mouth or feed him than it was to roll over and attend to him when he was in the pack-and-play by my bed. I have been pretty tired the last few nights.

He is such a happy baby (except when tired and hungry). He thinks his doggie, Bella is hilarious and will shriek and giggle at her all the time.

He fits in a couple 0 - 3 month things, a few 6 - 9 month things, but is mostly in 3 - 6 months clothes. Although I hate having him grow up, it is so fun to see all the cool things he discovers and starts to do. He has such a personality and is starting to get so active.... I LOVE IT! :)

4 Months Old

I think I say this each month, but I can't believe that Brecken is 4 months old already! Time just flies! I also can't believe that it is Thanksgiving this week... and a few weeks later, Christmas!

This photo captures of the new thing he loves to do - play with his toes. He is starting to get very wiggly and more active. It is such a fun age as he is more interactive and loves to chat it up with us at times. I love his shreks and giggles and as much as I don't want him to grow up, I look forward to the new things he can do.

He just had his 4 month check up and shots. He is 14.5 pounds and 25.2 inches. He is growing up so fast! He can still wear some 0-3 month clothes, but a majority of his clothes are 3 -6 months.

He isn't always so cooperative... :)

3 Months Old

I can't believe Brecken is 3 months already - that last month went fast... and I realized a month ago was the last time I blogged - I need to get better at this. I also need to get nursery pictures up soon as well!

This past month he has learned to roll over - both ways! He still is wearing some of his 0 - 3 months clothes and in some 3 - 6 month clothes as well. He is a growing boy! He can keep his head up really well and we recently got his exersaucer out for him to play in and he loves it! He also loves sitting in his bumbo seat and has recently started liking tv - yes he is getting started a little early! The sleep at night was really good for a while and the past couple nights he has been getting up a few times. Hopefully it gets better soon!
Breck is still so cuddly - I love that and hope that does not go away for a long time!

Happy 2 Months!

Happy 2 Months Breck! I can't believe he is already two months old! It feels like he has been part of our family forever but also like I just had him yesterday. It is so true when they tell you that they grow up fast!

Here is his two month photo. He looks like a little man in this picture.

 

He already has such a personality. I love his little squeals and smiles. He still loves to snuggle, be cuddled and held - he is very alert too. He is starting to get very heavy - he weighed in at a little over 12 pounds at his doctor's appointment this week. A few newborn outfits fit him but he is wearing mainly 0 - 3 month clothes. The sleep is getting alot better for me. Last night he slept the longest he ever has - 7 1/2 hours! I hope this continues!
