21 Weeks and my Maternity Clothes Challenge

21 Weeks this week and baby is the size of a Banana (which I partly don't get when Baby was a Cantaloupe last week...) Woohoo... Coming along!
So I realized after I uploaded this photo that you really can't see the bump good - but I feel like I actually have a bump and people can actually tell that I am preggo now (and not just pudgy)
Baby is the size of a Banana!

So my Maternity Clothes Challenge... I have challenged myself to only spend $100 on maternity clothes while being pregnant. I think it is totally doable and it will force to me be creative...but why spend a ton of money on clothes I will only wear for a few months? I have alot of empire waisted dresses and some stretchy skirts, along with some billowy non-pregnant shirts and long tanks, so I think I can get through with just getting some plain tops and pairing them with one of the 15 cardigans I have...

So what I have bought so far?

I have bought a pair of maternity jeans (which I broke out tonight- and wow are they comfy!) on clearance at Old Navy for $7.

I have also bought a belly band from Forever 21 for $8 which keeps my regular pants up but allows me to keep them unbuttoned. Genius Idea...

Here is the Belly band in action holding up my pre-preggo jeans... They make my pants pretty comfy (not as good as my maternity jeans - I think I am in love) When your shirt is pulled down  - it looks like I am wearing a long black tank top.

So that is all I have bought for my challenge - total is a whopping $15. $85 left to spend.
My wonderful sis-in-law gave me some adorable maternity shirts for my birthday - I don't count these in my total because it was a gift!

So do you think I can do it? Only spend $100 on maternity clothes or is that totally unrealistic? I'll keep ya posted on that one...

20 Weeks - Halfway there!

I find this week hard to believe... this week Baby is the size of a cantaloupe. Really it is that big? I don't feel like it could be that big... but here it is...
(From thebump.com)

And of course the baby bump...

I officially made it through half my pregnancy wearing my normal pants with no help. Woohoo! Once last Thursday hit, I started to wear my belly band (more on that later...) so now I can unbutton my normal pants - but wear this belly band to keep the pants up. Genius idea. So now I am constantly wearing my belly band or comfy sweats... no more normal pants.

I think this little boy has a sweet tooth (or maybe it is just me... but I blame it on the babe). I was ecstatic to purchase a box of thin mint girl scout cookies on Monday at work and preceded to eat half the box within a half hour... ok so there really aren't that many cookies in there... :) No worries - I am not quite through the other half of the box. I did purchase some thin mint ice cream though (recommended by my sis-in-law- thanks Hil!) and that is some good stuff too. So that is my craving this week - thin mints. Who knows what it will be next week...

I haven't felt the Baby move yet - they said my placenta is in the front so it may take longer to feel it - but I am hoping soon! It is so nice to finally know what we are having... it was starting to drive me nuts. I have the nursery all planned out which I am so excited to start doing! Maybe I will share some inspiration photos soon of the look I am going for...

So that is my little "half-way there" update... Be back soon to talk about my "maternity clothes challenge"...

It's a ______ Our Gender Reveal Party

We found out what we were having on Monday - Valentine's Day. What a fun day!! :) It was nice to FINALLY know what we were having! Yay!

Here is our favorite picture of our little Sweet P... Baby looks like it is laughing

We had a little gender reveal party at our house yesterday with our families - we missed our brothers Skyller and Jared - but everyone else was able to come. Our family was finally excited to find out what we were having after almost a week of knowing ourselves. They would find out by eating a cupcake with a gumball in the center - the color would tell them the gender.

Some Boy and Girl Decorations...

We had a few different treats we served. White Chocolate covered pretzel sticks with blue or pink sugar.

We took a Gender Poll to see what everyone thought we were having.

The Spread.

Puppy Chow, Pretzels, Jelly Beans, Blue Juice or Pink Lemonade, and of course the cupcakes.

We took a couple pictures of the "teams"

Team Girl:

 Team Boy:

Here are the infamous cupcakes that everyone was waiting for. They held the answer of what we were having...

 Everyone opening up the cupcake...
 It's a....
We are having a Baby Boy!! :) We are so excited!

Bella is excited to have a little brother!

So we are halfway done with our pregnancy! 20 weeks til we meet our SON! Woohoo!

Week 19

This week Baby is the size of a Mango...

(Photo from thebump.com)

Here is a real picture of a mango in my hand. It is a terrible picture - but I took it in the grocery department in Walmart on my cell phone so I didn't have to pay for it.

Here are some pictures of the bump:
This is from the day we found out what baby sweet p is.... but we can't share with the world what it is until this weekend after a little party we have with our family.

Tomorrow I will be at the half way point... Woohoo!! :)

17 Weeks: The onion

Little Sweet P is now 17 weeks (very soon to be 18 weeks... like tomorrow). I didn't exactly get this posted/done very soon in the week... but the point is that the baby is 17 weeks and it is the size of a large onion. That is pretty big! My email said about 5.1 inches long.

So here is how big baby is:

Here it is... my bump.. my small baby bump... It may be small but I know I finally have a bump! :)
